This is what the heroin epidemic looks like.

No kidding.

My kid LOVES math. He's above grade level, really curious about learning more difficult concepts, and is always asking us to give him difficult math questions.

He's a bookworm. He says he loves reading even more than math. I just bought him a cheap little kindle on prime day so we could load all kinds of books because he likes to read in the car.

We don't need to sit with him when he's doing his math homework, or reading.

But coloring?

Boring and pointless. ("If I already answered the math questions, why do I have to color in the squares for the picture?")

Writing?

He hates it. He knows what he wants to write. He'll finish his little diagram/flow chart thing, but when it comes to writing the actual paragraph? He just can't seem to put pencil to paper.

He'll even cry out of frustration sometimes. It once took him us (I deserve some credit for that nightmare) over 3.5 hours (through 2 days) for him to write 7 sentences.

Moments like those make me think that this can't possibly be normal and he might need medication.

Ugh.
