Well, could be but there were many times in the ToP when Goku was in a pinch just to saved in the nick of time by one of his teammates. So they didn't really foreshadow UI for Goku, we knew it was coming because of spoilers. And I can see what you mean, but even after tanking Obuni Gohan managed to not get hit anywhere vital and doesn't look hurt or tired. And UI Offense most probably wouldn't mean you would be able to read your opponent's movement instinctively, rather you would be attacking without thinking and spend the time trying to read and block the attacks yourself. But, eh, I dunno they made Frieza a significant character again after he was one-shot by Future Trunks so it would be wrong to say never. Cheers.
