What immediate danger/near death situation were you in but it turned out to be a false alarm?

When I was a kid I was on a snowmobile trip with my dad, he took my machine to cut a trail to the next lake and left me with his machine at the mouth of the trail “just wait here with the machine, I won’t be long” so I waited, and waited... I got fed up and started his machine, got about 12 ft and it was completely stuck. I got off and started walking his trail, but the snow was up to my chest and it felt more like swimming than anything, his trail went down a big hill and around a bend, that’s all I could see. At that point I made a fire and had some hot chocolate, I assumed he had to come back eventually, only now it was getting dark. With the impending dark it became more and more apparent that I was on my own. I built a simple shelter against the snowmobile with some pine branches and sat there waiting. When I was a kid the thought of being alone overnight in the forest was scary, but I didn’t care, I was considering how bad it would feel to tell my family that my dad was dead. I heard a faint noise echoing off the rock, it got louder until I could tell it was another snow machine, coming from an entirely different direction, then headlights... I got up and waved my arms at them as they approached me... it was my dad. Turns out he couldn’t get back up that hill I looked down and had to go around two different lakes to get back. (Sorry this is rough I’m on a phone and it’s 6am)
