What incorrect advice are men constantly given?

Nope. Not true. You can cry, be vulnerable, and still not lose face. You cry if the situation warrants it, preferably when you’re both already on the way there.

You show your emotions not to demonstrate how meek and vulnerable you are ‘as a point’, but to show that you are so above your emotions that you don’t mind sharing them with others. You feel things, genuinely, and when you cry or get teary eyed it’s for a damn good reason. Think Native American dude shedding a tear when he saw someone littering.

If you are unable to not cry and be stoic and supportive when your partner needs an emotional rock to lean on in times of distress, then you’re fucked. Did you dad cry with you when you hurt yourself as a kid or did he just hug and comfort you? Think of it that way.
