So I've been kinda dating one of my friends for nearly two years. It's explicitly non-exclusive and non-committed - we've both casually seen other people over that time, we've checked in about it with each other and talked about it openly, and I've always been fine with him dating other people.

But earlier this week was the first time that one of those people was actually at a group event at the same time as me. Watching them sitting together laughing, with his hand occasionally resting on her knee or the small of her back while I felt totally alone, just turned out to be too much for me, and I ended up crying for probably a solid hour after I got home.

I know we're going to have to have a proper talk about where we stand, but I just can't face it at the moment.
