What lifestyle changes have you made in the pursuit of FIRE?

A couple of things,

  • I don't buy anything. Not true, but almost. I replace things but I only buy essentials and try to stick to 150-200 items, cutlery / china / glasses excluded. I literally bought 1 thing on Amazon in the last 7 years.

  • Ditch stuff I don't need. This is items, subscriptions, toxic friends, focus areas (like news sites that deliver nothing of positive value for my life) and so on.

  • When buying events or going out, go for quality and rarily. Go big or don't go. It means that WHEN you go, you get excited AND then it amplifies it more when you know you have reservations at a Michelin restaurant, VIP tickets to a game/concert, helicopter ride through Grand Canyon, etc.

  • Cheap apartment, no bigger than what I need. 5 days a week, my apartment is a box I sleep in, if not at my GF, and all I do in it, is to use a computer for 2-3 hrs before bed or read a book.

  • Work out as a hobby. Its healthy so I pretend I save on health bills down the line and its a fixed cost for the centre a month and well worth it considering how much I go there.
