I've always been an avid basketball player. When I was just starting college, I saw a guy in the crowed who was a 6'3 mixed race guy. I figured to myself that based on nothing but his superficial traits, he MUST be a fellow baller. I approached him based on this, and he's the furthest thing from a fellow baller that you could image. He's read a dozen star wars books, and he says things like "Come hither". Not what I was looking for at all, but hey, I like that stuff too, so we connect over that. He's one of my 2 best friends now. I guess my other best friend technically has a darker skin tone than me, because he's an Israeli Jew. His skin looks like wonder woman's. Our similar interests are along the same lines. Out of the 3 of us, I'm actually the black sheep because I care about sports and that sort of thing.
