What was it like being raised in an unusual environment (like a boat travelling the world/touring with a family band) or with interesting parents (geniuses/famous/very popular)?

My parents worked on cruise ships and earned good money. For most of my toddler- early childhood years, I didn’t have contact with my parents and I was raised by a bunch of family members from town to town. I only spoke to my parents on the phone. They’d send gifts to me obviously and I was considered the “rich kid” because I got a lot of nice stuff from overseas.

It was great bc I was spoiled and got all I wanted but also I feel like it was bad too. Some of the family members I stayed with took the money that belonged to me for their own kids so it was testy and we had to be shuffle to another family. From what I can remember growing up, I felt pretty lonely and out-of-touch tbh.

Eventually, they stopped working on cruise ships, lived on land, and raised me so it worked out. I hear a lot about their travels and what they did overseas. The cruise ship industry at the time and their jobs were pretty cushy. It sounded awesome to get so much money traveling all over the place but definitely no stability in it.
