What little 'ah ha' moments did you notice in the books? (Spoilers all)

They're both parallels, I don't see the problem here then. The question was what were some ah'has where you saw symmetry and parallels you liked. I saw them both and liked them both. Just because the symmetry isn't perfect doesn't mean its not cool or an ah'ha moment. The fact that it's asymmetric is just realistic to life.

As for my discussion of the Ages, We know its one of two things from Jordan's interviews and the books. It's either part of the Third Age as Fel says or else its the Second Age, since Jordan says the One Power wasn't available in the age before the age before the Third Age. So the One Power started to be used between the First and Second Age. Since it exists in the Age of Legends, the Age of Legends much be the Second Age or the Third Age. It can be nothing else.

As for what you quoted, that's not the catechism Fel's referring to. He's referring to the "The Wheel of Time turns..." one not the "The Dark One and all of the Forsaken..." one, that one everyone admits is false, and is never referred to after the third book, because the country bumpkins who quoted it realize how wrong they were. While the Wheel of Time turns is repeated in every book.

Beyond that the Aes Sedai do remember the Forsaken are part of the Age of Legends (and Aiel Clan chiefs and Wise Ones who get to use the ter'angrael to see through their ancestor's eyes and know first hand what the Age of Legends was like). The Aes Sedai even have records of the Dark One letting people use the True Source since they can identify that Greandal/Hessalam is using it to Travel since what she doesn't match normal Travelling, but does match records of Traveling via the True Source back in the AoL.

Beyond that three thousand some years isn't nearly that far off, especially for people and Ogier who can live upwards of 300 years. That's only ten Aes Sedai lifetimes or so. Beyond that all other channelers don't take binding oaths, they can potentially live upwards of 800 years and they all have no problem reproducing and having children (ignoring damane). That's only 4 or so lifetimes since the breaking. (It's actually amazing they lost so much information in only that many generations).
