Why? Lots of men want help with their dating lives. How is attempting to analyze and solve their problems something that requires psychiatric treatment?

Reality is, group A that consciously optimizes for outcome will outperform group B that doesn't, all else equal. Wanting to learn about human social dynamics and using that knowledge to optimize for outcome isn't psychotic. In fact it's quite rational.

The danger is in the extremes, but that's a danger of both groups. Learn and optimize, but don't abuse and dehumanize. Unfortunately, that line gets crossed in both groups (though I will say, I think red pillers are clearly worse than the FDSers. But I know that's a matter of opinion.)
