What do you love and hate about your place of employment?

Love: I run the kitchen, so everything is organized and cleaned to my specifications, and I am very meticulous about organization and cleanliness. The entire kitchen staff is motivated and has a phenomenal attitude about food and about work in general. Our waitstaff and bartenders genuinely care about the product we're putting out, so our service is very good, and things usually run pretty smoothly while the kitchen is open, even when it's slammed.

Hate: literally everyone but the owner is ready to take the next step. The owner is okay with how things are (because we're making good money), but we know we can blow this wide open. We have the right staff, the right attitude, the right location to do big things, but the owner is okay with it just being basically a dive with great food.

Our "bar crowd," who usually don't come in until just before or just after the kitchen closes, are human fucking scum.

Some douchebag punched/elbowed a hole in the wall in the men's bathroom not too long ago, and when the owner patched it up someone else reopened the hole.

People routinely show up with nippers in their pockets/purses and get so obliterated they vomit in the bathroom or on the patio.

The thing that sucks is yeah, their tabs are only like $15-30 apiece because they pregame or bring booze with them, but there's like 300-500 of those tabs in a night. So yeah, we're making great money, but it's a shitty bar crowd that makes our lives miserable.

The owner, however, is totally okay with the fact that those people suck, because he's making good money off of them. He won't see reason, either. If we just stop carrying the shit those idiots drink, they'll stop coming in. No more Bud Lights (or heavies), no more Fireball, no more Jager, and no more anything that's close enough to any of those that those people will just switch to that.

But the owner doesn't seem to want to retake control. I've seen him storm outside several times to change a keg muttering "I fuckin hate this place," but he doesn't seem to realize that it's totally within his power to make it not suck anymore.

It's extremely frustrating.
