My best friend from high school decided to get married at 18 and immediately start a family. Okay, that’s cool. It’s what makes him happy. 4 years later I’m visiting him, his wife and their 3 kids when he tells me that his wife is pregnant with kid #4 and thinking they are going to give it up for adoption. Trying to hide my disbelief I ask him why and he says it’s because they can’t afford another kid right now.

Icing on the cake: They would do an open adoption with a neighbor of theirs. The kid would be living right across the street and still see his family and be told from the get-go the neighbors are your parents.

Found out after almost 10 years of not talking to him they didn’t go through with it.
