What made your parents good parents?

When I was younger, my dad completely supported my interests. He never stunted finding my personal style. If I began showing an interest in a band, he took interest in it as well. When I got into painting, he took me to arts and crafts stores. When I wanted to shop at Hot Topic back in 2009, he took me. When I was 16 and wanted to bleach my dark hair and go bright pink, he took me to get it professionally done so I wouldn’t mess it up. My dad literally supported me and who I was. I remember my dad saying something along the lines of, you won’t be able to do everything you want when you’re an adult, so you might as well do it now. As long as it didn’t hurt anyone or myself, he was on board. I love him so much for how he respected my individuality and it never felt like I was going through it alone with him.
