What is a mildly disturbing fact?

You're not necessarily wrong, but I'm not quite sure I see your point in this context. Honestly, it really doesn't contradict anything abut what the person you replied to said.

I would expect "incident" to be less strict of a category than "crash", but I would expect crashes to be included in incidents (not necessarily the other way around). And in that list, we can see many things that are described as "crashes", while some are not (supporting the idea that a crash is an incident but an incident isn't innately a crash).

And like the person you replied to said, most of the incidents described as "crashes" resulted in many deaths.

So I'm inclined to agree with them (based on the source they provided) that it's hard to believe that "in the event of a plane crash, you are more likely to survive than not".

The fact that there is a difference between an incident and an accident/crash doesn't change that at all (I'm assuming you're using accident to mean the same as crash).
