Humans want to survive better so they figure out how to extract a resource from cows. This was very recently on the timeline of human existence.

Someone figured out how to give milk a longer shelf life by condensing, powderizing, and canning.

The shelf stable milk gets sent to soldiers fighting WWll. The industry booms and can afford lobbyists.

From here on out, they own the program....

After the war demand ends, the industry obligates the gov. to help them sell their excess dairy to the civilians.

Keep in mind 65% of humans are lactose intolerant. This is essentially a white European product being pushed on people of all backgrounds. The industry and government knew it was unhealthy for many of their consumers but they pushed it anyway, including it as essential in the food pyramid and so on.

And here we are. Fat as fuck. Monstrously torturing animals by the billions. Believing in the corporate-placed cultural norms.
