when i was 7, my mother would always, without fail, drop me off at kindergarten every morning before she would go to work. we’d go down the lift and she’d ask me “how do you feel? are you okay?” and then she would walk me to kindergarten, holding my hand, whenever i said “yes.”

she wouldn’t leave for work immediately when we got there though. she’d wait until the doors open and the teacher lets us in before going. she would wait until i entered the classroom, turn around and waved at her before she left for work.

for some reason, i miss that a lot. it’s not a very important or significant thing but i do miss those moments the most right now.
