What monitor should I get to be able to play 120hz.

Good lord this thread has a lot of bad advice. Do not get a 1080p monitor. Do not waste your money on a HDMI 2.1 4k/144hz Monitor.

For the best bang for your buck, get a 1440p 144Hz+ monitor. You're gonna want an IPS panel, avoid VA at all costs. Ideally you want something with a built in downscaler, like the Asus VG27AQ or Gigabyte M27/G27q. This will allow you to output at a near/downsampled 4k/60hz image, or 1440p/120Hz.

Alternatively you can get a model like the Dell S2721DGF, which has lower input lag and motion blur, but you'd have to get an external downscaler so probably not worth it.
