What is the most embarassing way your body has betrayed you?

Fair enough, but that's really just your opinion. Colleges have to take majority preferences into account. Many students do like having once/week classes, especially if they commute. Classes are only scheduled based on student preferences, anyway. I'm sure there's many students that don't want to take 4 hour long classes, but if the majority of students didn't like these classes, these classes would constantly be getting cancelled from low enrollment. So there's enough of a demand for them to keep them around. Also, I wasn't trying to insinuate that you specifically said professors set the schedule, it's just a common thing that I hear and I was addressing the misconception.
