What is the most expensive material in your world? What is its purpose?

Sāti is the ruins of the presumed capital of an either recent or ancient nation known as the Republic of Kinshasa. The history of the city is shrouded in mystery due to many factors:

  • Due to the prevelance of "Lethe Syndrome" (world-wide amnesia), no oral history has survived its destruction.

  • Almost all written history of the city has been either destroyed, mishandled, or lost. Some exists, but it does not explain the bizarre property of Bedlam Steel and any other constructed materials originating from Sāti.

  • Any effort to obtain an accurate carbon date on many structures, crafted materials, or even bodies provide accurate, yet wildly unbelievable data. As a result, Sāti likely existed between 12,000 years prior up to 1,000 years in the future.

These strange properties of this area have caused a large manner of legends surrounding it including a major government conspiracy to hide experimentation. Nevertheless, a strong culture of scavenging and treasure hunting is practiced by the people of Kinshasa. They often refer to themselves as "Metal Walkers."
