I was 16 and my ob/gyn at the time was a really old man like 80 years old. My mother went to him also and just scheduled me because it was easier than her finding another doctor that was a better fit for me. Anyway, I was getting an annual physical done and he reccommended "I get surgery to cut my labia off to make it smaller and more appealing to men." Mind you, Ive seen other women and such from doing sports and Im pretty normal, definitley not anything to be concerned about. Anyway, I told him no thanks and he still checked to see if my insurance would cover the surgery. It hindered me from sex and after I turned 18 and started a sexual relationship I felt really self conscious. My husband says Im perfect and Im cool with that(: Never got the surgery done and Im more than happy with my body.
