Me and an ex had been fighting for months. We’d been best friends since we were 16. He decided that he was going to write me a letter stating all the reasons why he loved me. Every time he said he’d give it to me, he didn’t have it. Eventually said he just wanted to say it “in the moment”. We ended up getting in a really big fight, and he told me that was the moment he would tell me why he loved me.

Sat me down, started listing things, but also saying things that didn’t make sense (“you’re always right and it pisses me off...”). Ended up fighting more, he dumped me.

Two days later we met up to talk about it.

“I started to tell you why I loved you, and I realized that every reason why I’ve ever loved you was a lie.”
