TL;DR: I was playing xboxlive with friends as a kid. Friend from NYC encounters ex girlfriend on a mmorpg. I decided to try and be a idiot and troll her for fun as she caused a lot of grief for my friend. Turns out she lives 15 minutes away from me on the west coast and I don't need to troll because she's loopy.

I was playing my Xbox 360 back in I think around 2007-2008? I had a group of 6 friends that would all play the Phantasy Star Universe demo (for those uninitiated it was a instanced MMORPG but the demo let you play a huge chunk of the game at the cost of character resets almost every month.)

Anyways so one day we're hanging out and deciding what to do next in the main hub. Out of nowhere the oldest friend in the group (16) from NYC says "awe fuckin hell. My ex girlfriend is standing right fucking next to me and wants me to join her party. She's completely nuts". At this point he had told us stories about what she had done ect and he was really distraught over it.

So of course everyone's like "what? How did this happen ect ect."

He joins their party and doesn't join back into ours for a good while. Everyone votes I go to see what's up. In this vote I tell the group I might troll them for the luls. So I see if I can join into his actual party chat. I can so I do.

Once I get into the chat my friend introduces me and his ex asks where I'm from. Well it turns out she lives about 15 minutes by car away from me. I didn't give out specifics about where I lived because friend says she's nuts.

Long story short as soon as she hears im from the same city she wants to date me and so I say sure in the hopes of being a dumb troll. 5 minutes after that she says she's going to play halo 2. I jump into halo 2 and apparently she's dating another guy in that lobby who's like 30. I ask "I thought you were dating me???" And every guy in the lobby says "she dates everyone lol"

I turned off my Xbox and went outside laughing. Not sure what the probability is of meeting somebody that lives that close to you who dated your friend from across the country but...yeah. Weird.
