An old, beat up, scruffy beanie-baby zebra. When I was in Iraq some dude in our platoon signed up for one of those "adopt a soldier" feel good things where somebody back home sends you packages while you're deployed. Anyway I didn't get much mail after my gf broke up with me a few weeks in so this guy would share his packages with me so I wasn't totally sad when everyone was getting mail. I guess some 1st grade class was sending the packages, and they would put in candy and snacks and cute letters with backwards letters and shit. Some little kid whose name I forgot put his stuffed animal in there and I just sorta had it in my pocket from the rear of the deployment. This isn't exactly an uncommon thing, I remember reading a pretty much identical story to mine on here way back in the day and there were a few dudes who had similar shit that they'd carry from their kids or wives or whatever. Idk, it made me felt like somebody back home gave a shit about me so I held onto it. I was like 19 at the time, and 6 years and another deployment later I carry that little fucker in my backpack when I'm going to class
