What is the most wholesome thing you have seen?

Let me preface this by saying that my grandfather was old and raised in the south so you can assume his views on African Americans. No, it wasn't right, and his views were not passed on to me.

One day we were at the Dollar Store getting cat food or something and there were two black kids in front of us. We overheard that the youngest was trying to buy a toy he had been wanting with some money he had saved but was short like $2 thanks to taxes. My grandfather didn't hesitate to offer to pay for that child's toy and shocked me. They cried and thanked him probably 15 times, offered to come and mow his yard and he just said don't worry about it.

I know it was a small amount of money but to those kids it meant everything and it shocked me that this man who I have never seen do something like didn't even hesitate.

I asked him why he did that when we got to the car and he told me "boy, them kids aint done no one any harm and any time to be kind should always be taken." Miss you, Papa.
