What movie made you walk out of the theater?

Not me, but my best friend and I went to see Very Bad Things.

The first half hour or so goes kinda slow, before all the horrible things start happening. I think the first people started leaving shortly after the hooker got impaled, and I'd say a solid 2/3rds of the audience left the theatre by the time the guy got crushed by the minivan. The audience is dead quiet the whole time.

After the movie was over, we were all outside not just the viewing room, but the theatre itself, and the people start looking at each other and then bust out laughing. It was the most cathartic experience, like we suddenly got all the jokes all at once. People were doubled over, others were crying from laughter, and there was this incredible sense of relief. You guys have to understand, this was opening weekend and nobody knew it was a black comedy, and I think even if you knew it was a black comedy, nobody expected it to be that dark and brutal.

Still my favourite movie-going experience.
