What do you need to get off your chest?

don't avoid drinking due to your father but know your limits.

My grandparents were alcoholics and I would sometimes be left with them for a weekend. They were great when they weren't drinking. So I decided not to drink. Well, I get to college and a party has beer and vodka. The taste is so bad that I can't believe anyone intentionally drinks either of them. Anyway, I end up getting drunk and puking out the window of my girlfriend's car, and the next morning I have to bail out of tutoring someone. Proceed to be a casual drinker for the next 23 years, maybe every 2 weeks on average but still sometimes to the point of throwing up (including my mom's wedding party), other times buzzed (not sure if technically drunk) driving. I picked up Allen Carr's (the guy who writes a book called the Easy Way to Quit Smoking) book called the Easy Way to Quit Drinking which I read just because I was curious about his methods. Turns out his writing style is pretty bad but by the end I was convinced there was no reason to drink again. I've heard that happens to smokers who read his smoking book. His method is basically to get you to quit without using willpower by removing any reason that you would want to do that thing. My final drink was on the 4th of July and I really only had that one because the book has you drink your final drink at the end of the book. (Same for the smoking book with a final cigarette; you can smoke while you read that one. The alcohol book says to read it when sober though because it probably wouldn't make sense reading it drunk.)
