What do you think we need to do, in order for other sports to prosper as cricket does today?

I've thought about this a fair bit about what "we the public" can do.

Let's take for instance, my dad who's 48. He loves cricket. Recently got into golf and watches these two sports primarily. Let's also take two more of my friends, one is called bunty who loves football and another one, chintu likes cricket. Now if I'm interested in developing other sports, the best way would be to somehow try and convince chintu to play football with us. My dad would probably not be interested, but we could develop a familiarity in chintus mind. Maybe he likes it. Maybe he's good at football and starts watching it regularly. Or maybe he realizes that it's not for him and we force him to play with us, he falls down as hes going for goal, hits his lower back on the post as he stumbles and loses the ability to walk. What would chintu do now? This poor soul who was perfectly happy watching cricket may never walk again purely because he played football once? Is this the future of humanity that we're doomed to follow?

What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. TELL THAT TO CHINTU YOU BASTARD
