What "new rule" has been put in place because of you?

Not as extravagant as the others in this thread, but 2 rules that were connected were made because of me.

At the Wal-Mart I used to work at, the managers would switch between night and day shift every few months or whatever the time limit is. I was part of the overnight shift, so some managers would allow headphones and iPods or whatever on the floor while we worked, others would be anal about not using them.

I was hired during a time where current management allowed it. When my first management switch came, I was appalled that I couldn't listen to my iPod.

So, I would sing any song I remembered from my iPod loudly while working. At first, my co-workers would laugh and my manager would try to play it off and tell me to quiet down, but not 5 minutes later I was back at it. My voice was pretty harsh after each night, but I didn't mind. I would break for a bit after a few days of my concerts cuz my voice would hurt.

The straw that broke the whatever's back was when this group of teenagers/young adults (I assume the former) came in and was looking at the aisle I was working in, I broke into the original Pokemon theme song. I did this because I knew they would either be weirded out or join in.

They joined in, and we had a multi-person concert of singers in my aisle.

My manager, at first, was trying to be all laugh-y and play it off, but once the group left and bought their stuff, my manager pulled me into the office and berated me for the singing.

The next day I had off. The next day I worked, my manager had added 1 rule, and then reminded us of the other rules.

The reminded rule was about disrupting the workplace.

The new rule was "employees are not allowed to sing under any circumstances unless their life is threatened."

Now, this is not a company wide policy as far as I know, and yes, the workplace disruption thing is still applicable, except that no co-worker of mine minded my singing because they knew why I was doing it. While my manager could argue that it did disrupt, all the same, he felt a need to add that in.

It was very easily taken tho. He decided to let use use iPods on the night shift from then on.

The next management shift came, and there was another manager that was strict about it, but I couldn't do anything at that point. I was thinking of quoting books, but I felt like I had pushed it far enough.
