What do you think next years' team will look like?

Melton is still under contract (9.2 mil cap number) He either gets cut, or takes a huge decrease. I see him taking the decrease because of how the contract is structured we would basically lose nothing by cutting him, so it's in his best interest to take a decrease

Nah he's gone and I don't think we'll try to bring him back with how well Crawford is playing. We only offered him the deal we did in hopes he could bounce back from his ACL. But he couldn't and was plagued by injuries all year. It's not really in his best interest to take a decrease. He was good enough that some team that needs a 3-tech DT will give him decent cash, but with Crawford it's just straight up not worth it to have Melton on our team. Crawford takes his spot and we draft a DT to play next to him. Unless by some miracle we get Suh or Knighton.

That leads to Claiborne. He is on the team next year. We save literally nothing by cutting him, and he only has one year left. He performs, great, he doesn't, we don't resign next year.

I know. I put him up there. I only put the "If he gets his shit together" part because if he doesn't he'll be benched again. I didn't go into backups in my post, just starters, and in today's NFL I would consider 1-3 corners as starters, and he's gonna start the year as one of those guys. Where he ends the year is a question.

Carr is also a similar situation. 12 million dead money and half a million of savings to cut him. Not worth it, he stays, hopefully with a restructured contract. We've fucked up enough with dead money and Carr has definitely improved this year.

Nah if we make him a June 1st cut we get 8 million back. Totally worth it to cut him and that's probably what's gonna happen. Especially if we draft a corner.

I still believe in Spencer and think he can be brought back real cheap. If not then bye, but if he is then we have Mincey, Lawrence, Spencer, and a 1-3 round rookie, which I think looks nice.

As do I. That's why I talked about what I think would happen if we brought him back.

DT, we will probably keep McClain, who I liked, as well. So possibly McClain, Crawford, Melton, and a 1-3 round rookie

McClain is still under contract, but he's meh. Melton's almost 100% gone. I highly doubt there won't be a rookie starting here. I didn't go into backups that's why I didn't bring up McClain and Brent.

As for LBs, only Lee and Hitchens are under contract. We have to resign McClain, Durant, and Carter. One is probably walking and it isn't going to be McClain.

You might wanna go back and re-read my post. I literally said " Lee, Hitchens, McClain, and Durant. I think we let Carter walk and can get Durant for cheap." so what was I missing here?
