What not so glamorized career path is actually a pretty good one?

Its true. I can bend 1 1/4" pipe, I can run teck cable and tie in CDPs and help mount 1500 lb transformers and help pull mains into the distribution...

But I am truly strongest on attention to detail. Currently a few hours shy of 4th year status, am lead hand on my crew on a fairly high profile jobsite, in charge of QAQC and troubleshooting, plus getting experience with the coordination side of things. I really enjoy it. I know a few older women in my local with experience as GF and I look up to them so much!

That being said I have absolutely worked for people who pigeonholed me into shitty work because that's how they treat women. Its not ALL bad though, yes I've had to push a broom but I've never been the one digging a trench.
