My friend was kicked out of his DnD group 4 or 5 years ago for "literally no reason"

I was told by another friend in the group it was because he was "that guy" and they didn't take their decision lightly. They had a group chat and hundreds of texts debating this. It hurt them because he was their friend, but they decided it was for the best to let him go. He didn't take it well. He called me crying in the middle of the night and told me about what happened. I was high as fuck so I wasn't sure what to do. He eventually got through it but he never fully forgave them. He's still bitter, and I've never told him about why they really cut him out.
