What one mistake fucked up your entire life?

People manage it somehow. On r/leaves you'll see people talking about it like it puts heroin to shame. They go on about how they were powerless and watched in horror as the devil's lettuce burned their churches and raped their women. I don't think they realize how lucky they are to have never actually tried a hard drug, because with that level of self-control they'd be dead within a week.

I was a daily smoker for ten years and when I had to quit for a few months due to some drug testing for a job, I posted on there about how it isn't that bad because its no more addictive than coffee and I thought I was being encouraging by saying anyone can quit weed cold turkey if they just put their mind to it. I actually had a few people agree with me and share similar thoughts before the mods banned me lol. That place is for sob stories only I guess
