What opinion of yours did a complete 180?

I was pretty much set on killing myself, but then I had a speech class and one of the speeches changed my mind. For the speech we had to give a speech on a quote that's influences us. A girl in my class chose the Tolkien quote "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." First she spoke about a young family member who was given a short life estimate by her doctors and the family's decision on if they should tell them right away or wait and let them enjoy being a kid while they could. Then she talked about her best friend that committed suicide unexpectedly. Last she talked about her father who abandoned her family when she was young and her stepfather who she had recently found out wasn't her biological father and was dying from a heart condition. Her speech was very raw and emotional, but she gave an excellent presentation. I heard that speech sometime around September last year and I've thought about it a lot since. I'm not sure what exactly it was about her speech, but it made something finally click in my head that suicide wasn't the answer I was looking for.
