What was PC building like 25 years ago?

I still use the ATX case from the 1st pc I built. I lived out in the PNW, had used macs all my life. I had recently gotten a job with Fox Communications as a dial up tech support. They hired me due to my mac knowledge, I quickly found out I needed some pc knowledge. So, I went to a pc parts place that was like a Microcenter, I can't remember the name of the place. I got soooo lucky with a fellow shopper. I was trying to do the original over clocker combo, Celeron 300 and bus oc'd to a 450. They didnt have any as the 300 was waaay over sold, dude there was like, get this 333 and bus oc it to 433(?) I did that build and it lasted me a few years. Been building my own ever since!
