Happened to me exactly once in my life, but it seemed to be more the product of an awkward situation that I got caught in the middle in than it seemed to be some random woman yelling at me for holding a door.

Basically, I got stuck holding open the door for a barrage of people heading both in and out of a Wawa; being polite enough to take turns going in and then out, without also being polite enough to thank me or offer me an oppurtunity where I didn't feel like I was about to slam someone in the face with a hunk of sheet metal on a hinge.

After doing this for what felt like five minutes, I finally got a chance to leave, but I also saw some woman, proabably around twice my age (I was like 14 when this happened), who was the perfect distance away that made it feel both rude to leave, yet also a passive agressive to wait there for.

​

After forgeting for a split second that I was in fact a human and not a door, it was too late as I had now already commited to an an almost canadian level of politeness.

​

Such was my life I reason, when the lady making her way over agreed that my gesture was more hassel than it was worth and then proceeded to holler at me to just let her get her own damn door.

​

I froze for just enough time that by the time I did react, I did actualy end up slamming this chick full dead on the snoz with all the torque that a wawa door can muster, and then proceeded to basically zoidberg side crawl away as a I turned about as red as the sapient-lobster scum from head to toe.
