What do people do that you just don't get?

When they make a cashier/bagger/store employee's day harder than it needs to be.

Example: The other day at Walmart my dad and I are in line to check out. This sweet older woman is the cashier and the customers in front of us are checking out.

It's a mid 20's male with a maybe mid 30's mentally disabled man. Nothing wrong with that, he was probably his aid or maybe just someone who volunteered to bring him shopping.

The problem was the 20 something year old put all the items on the conveyer belt so obviously the cashier proceeds to scan them. She's basically done when the young man quietly but rudely tells her his items are separate from the other mans items.

Without helping her go through the bags to grab the items he wanted separate, he just waits for her to take one item out at a time and he just like nods while being obviously annoyed with her

but 1. He never fucking voiced that he wanted them separate at any point in time BEFORE she started scanning so how was she to know? He only stops her near the end to let her know after having watched her the entire time when he had multiple opportunities to be like "oh sorry, those items are separate" but nope, notta once.

Finally she un-scans those items and they do the transaction for the disabled man. Then she re-scans everything but not all one big transaction, no why would we be that blessed, he makes her scan a few items - hands her some cash - more scanning - more money and so on.

Like this guy was so fucking rude I couldn't believe it. He made her make like 3-4 separate small transactions JUST for his items after finishing the other mans order.

The people behind us were pissed and even the old lady was like looking around like it was the fucking office, I felt so bad for her.

It takes zero effort to just voice how you want a transaction to go and to be polite about it.
