What phrase or slang will you never stop using no matter how old it gets?

"Awsome" hater here. If you're dad is of my generation (teen in the 80s) he and I could hate it for the same reason.

Ever see an 80s where there's some prick with gelled hair who is an asshole to every other character? The guy with the bimbette empty headed gum snapping girlfriend? In reality, those were the only people who regularly said "awesome" in the 80s.

But use of the word suddenly became popular 20 years later. How?

My theory is that these people peaked in high school. They never learned to not be assholes. As a result, they never did well in the job market. Which left their mindless fluff chick girlfriends to be the bread winners in their pathetic little households. Now, these women were beyond stupid. What jobs could they get? Child care.

So now these vapid wastes of space and time with their hair spray fume addled minds are teaching children. Place this in the early 90s. These prime examples of the MTV generation are now influencing children. Of course, being the complete idiots that they are, they mindlessly move through their day droning "awesome...awesome...awesome" as if they have a primal need to prove George Romero correct about the influence of consumer culture on the minds of society.

Anyway... These innocent children now see this word as normal. It's drilled into their brains. They eventually become adults and enter the workforce, sometime between 2008 and 2012. They become doctors, entertainers, leaders of business, content creators.

And they're still all saying "Awesome!"

In the end you see how the assholes of yesterday became the greatest shapers of the world today. And every time that word is uttered it just reinforces the stupidity of modern society. And it pisses me, and perhaps your dad, off.

Just my theory.
