What was the "please stop" school presentation that you witnessed?

In college one of our instructors brought in a traumatic brain injury survivor that she had worked with for years to tell his story about his recovery. In his 20s, he would party with friends and ride ATVs and dirt bikes while drunk. One day, he lost control of his vehicle, got thrown and split his head open because he wasn't wearing a helmet.

He was in hospital for years recovering and almost died several times. Lost everything and his friends abandoned him after his injury. We know this because he kept circling back to the fact that he had no friends and they all left him. Despite our instructor's efforts to redirect him, he kept persevering on the fact that he had no friends and lived a very lonely life. Then he started crying and kept repeating that he had no friends. Eventually the person that brought him (PSW or community nurse) convinced him to stop and they left the room. Our instructor tried to salvage the situation by talking about the therapy he had to do to recover, but we could hear him still talking out in the hall about his loneliness.
