What is the point of electing officials to vote for us?

Thats a higher standard of knowledge than politicians are held accountable too.

So what your saying is Democracy doesnt work?

You surmise,

Citizens, in a world of 24 hour access to all of of human knowledge, citizens cant be trusted to vote due to a lack of information to them.

We cannot trust citizens to vote correctly, implying there is a preferred and predecided outcome that a vote would make inconvenient.

If the above 2 points are true, then what you refer to as democracy isnt actually democracy is it.

If information is the issue then a solution would be to INFORM the citizens voting. But maybe you see that as too much work.

Leaves us with two possibilities.

1) You dont want citizens involved in government decisions and do not hold the values of democracy as a virtue.

2) You think informing people of thier government processes, information flow etc, is just too much work and not worth it.

And wtf is yoir presidential elections if not a tinder vote. Whoever has the most money biys the most airtime so they can say "God Bless America" the most and win. Thats exactly how american presidents are chosen. No qualification, no experience. 2 of the last 3 couldnt spell or do basic math...

Yet Citizens cant be trusted to be informed...
