At What Point is it the Goalie's Fault?

Hank gets by on his strong fundamentals. He has all the moves and he is always in the best position. That being said, it seems like he doesn't see the puck as well anymore.

Warning: I might be talking out of my ass here.

I think the block heavy style of defense under Girardi and McDonagh was perfectly suited for an aging Hank and he thrived because of it. A player dropping to the ice really limits the angle of shots that can get in the net and it allowed Hank to adjust into perfect positions. Over the past couple years they've moved away from a system of blocking to the occasional block and I think Hank has really suffered as a result. Having a player lay out and cut off the surface shot was huge for Hank and he rarely gets that now.
