What is the point of roleplaying on r/dirtypenpals?

Watching porn doesn't do it for me as much as reading erotica does. I think having to use my imagination to fill in the blanks is why reading erotica turns me on so much.

At some point I started writing my own trashy smut stories and posting them to literotica. Writing was fun and I got off on it. Interacting with people and reading the comments was the most fun part of it though.

Erotic roleplay combines the interaction aspect with the writing aspect. You're collaborating with another person to write and tell a story that you will both get off to. If you find a person with similar kinks, similar taste in stories, and who can write well it's fucking hot and tons of fun.

It can also be a way to indulge fantasies that you don't want to happen in real life but get turned on by (incest, non consent, etc) or stuff that can't actually happen in real life (sex with a witch or alien, mind control, being a different gender, etc).

I have some pretty messed up fantasies. That place was a safe space to explore them.
