What positive aspects do you find in primarchs that you find either hated or of those that you hate yourself.

You see the “meta” you know your army list has less competitive options than what you should take, it’s not even in the Meta, but you take it anyway because that’s what you love, you take pride in your miniatures and screw anyone else who says otherwise. You do pretty well anyways and it’s not like your list is completely trash, your army plays and functions just how you like it, it’s just not the best way to win, but it’s the one you like doing. You spend hours painting them up, working out synergies and tactics and the perfect placements. Your army is the clearest expression of you. Everyone else runs a giant soup of power but yours has soul and fills you with joy when your stuff works out.

That is Magnus and his sorcery, trying to do a thing they way he loves instead of doing it the way everyone else wants to and ends up getting tabled. He had an idea, he had a plan and he went with that and it ended terribly.

I can relate with that. I can relate with using a tactic or strategy or character that isn’t meta because I’m more comfortable in using it.
