What’s the American opinion of the French ?

I don’t have much of an opinion on French people, I have met several French weeaboos before though and they were really cool and accepting people. I think France looks pretty cool as well from the pictures I’ve seen of it. The one thing that really fascinates me about France is it’s history though. Especially the Napoleon era when they were kicking ass left and right. This I’m really excited about since I’m going to be taking a Western European history class that’s going to start in the year 1648 up to modern times so we’ll be going over it more in depth. Also looking forward to learning about France in the early 1900s.

As for the surrender jokes, I think it can still be funny rarely when the moment is perfect but for the most part it’s already stale in my opinion. I do know why things went the way they did in World War 2 though. When I took US history we did need to look at other histories as well to understand why the US was doing things the way it was. One of them was to see why things went the way they did in WW2. So yup. My opinion of France overall is kind of neutral but mostly leans positive.
