But what I meant was if she wanted something, she would go to great lengths to get it and she hurts a lot of people that way

She's a great person in that she wants the best for her community and friends and puts others before herself a lot of the time, but she's not perfect and this is actually addressed it the show. The first episode that comes to mind is the one where Ben and Ann both tell her that she's a steamroller, that she often ignores what other people want and stubbornly goes after what she wants. Her intentions aren't bad (she wasn't deliberately trying to hurt Ben by wanting to remain friends with him and remain in touch with him), but she can at times be stubborn and pushy. She recognizes the error of her ways (in the aforementioned case, when she realized it would be unfair to keep Ben from pursuing his goals in DC, etc.) and isn't closed to criticism or self-improvement, though. Basically: she's human, she has flaws, but she's not at all a bad person IMO.
