What’s the go-to lazy meal for each time of day in your country or culture?

El Salvador

I will say a lot of typical food is often purchased on the street or local restaurant like pupusas, tamales, fried yucca etc than made at home in my family. Those dishes take time to prepare and make. I used to live in the capitol of San Salvador.

Breakfast: 1) French bread rolls (usually delivered to your house by the local bakery every other morning) and you stuff them with refried beans, cream (similar to a crème fraîche or not too sour cream) or requesón (ricotta?), and hard cheese.

2) Leftover tortillas (Salvadoran style super thick) spread avocado on top with lime juice and salt. Fried eggs on the side.

3) Casamiento which is rice and beans mixed together with a lot of flavor. You put on top cream and hard cheese.

4) Most common breakfast that doesn't take long. Refried beans, scrambled eggs, fried sweet plantains, cream and other form of cheese. For more carbs tortillas or French bread rolls.

Lunch: 1) Bean soup with cream, cheese, and tortillas.

2) Ground beef patties with onions, mint, and other flavors. Tortillas and rice on the side.

3) Breaded fish (favorite is shark!) with lime juice, rice, vegetables like string beans, and tortillas.

Coffee time or snacks: 1) Local bakery brings a big ass basket carrying sweet breads in the afternoon around 3-4pm almost same time every work day. Enjoy sweet baked goods with a cup of coffee.

2) Eat lots of local fruits for snacks. One of my favorite that I miss and it's weird to Americans is baby mangos (super green not close to being ripe at all) and then you add salt, lime juice, crushed pumpkin seed, and hot sauce on them.

Dinner: Any protein, vegetable, with rice and tortillas.
