I was in deep shit.
I was leaving the army and I had a few more weeks to push. I had an interview and already had my reference in hand.
Then, my room was searched upside down and a small amount of amphetamine was 'found'.
I was arrested and investigated for possession with intent to supply.
I was pending court martial. I was interviewed and kept quiet.
Turns out they didn't have just cause to search my room, which means the amphetamine was inadmissible.
I also hadn't said anything in the interview, so they didn't have that evidence either.
Suddenly I was going to court martial where the prosecution didn't have a single strand of evidence. I had spent the last 3 months doing shit jobs.
The entire regiment got drug tested. I was approached and told that I had been found with a shed loads of drugs in my sample, which I knew was untrue. I was urged to 'confess' as then I would get a lighter sentence.
I kept my mouth shut. I was then interviewed by the Office Commanding who 'was very sorry' they put me through all this and that I was 'a friend of the Regiment' and I could leave in the next few days.
All I can remember is muttering, 'I guess now it's my time to take legal action, Sir' with a smile on my face.
I mean, I only got 6 grand, but hey, it was more the fact I turned the tables on him.
