What’s that one story you’ve always wanted to tell on r/askreddit, but no one has ever asked the right question?

The most improbable thing that could happen happened to me several years ago.

Me and my friends were abroad. We're from the Philippines and my friend said that in order to save costs, he said his father contacted his old friend who immigrated to Belgium. Turns out we would be able to be able to stay for at least one night.

Unfortunately our group is too big to stay under one roof, but his wife's parents lives just one block away and some of us would be able to stay there instead.

So three of us went and meet her parents. We were making small talk and such when I noticed this picture. This woman looks very familiar. And her child looks very familiar....

Oh.....

WTF

HER CHILD WAS MY GRADE SCHOOL FRIEND. AND THIS WOMAN WAS HIS MOTHER. SO THAT MEANS I AM IN HIS GRANDPARENT'S HOUSE. AND THE WIFE IS HIS MOTHER'S SISTER.

I literally screamed and lost my mind.

I can't imagine the sheer odds after what 7 degrees of separation? That I would be able to meet someone who has a close blood relation to someone I knew.

Even till this day, I think all of my luck has been drained just from that encounter lol
