What’s something weird about English (or another language) that native speakers don’t think about?

When I first started learning English, I was a bit confused about pronouns as they had gender in them and this doesn’t really exist in my language(Kazakh), for example; ”He took an apple.” in Kazakh would be «Ол бiр алма алды», the ”Ол” in this case kind of means ”that” and doesn’t have any specifics about them like you do in English. If we had to specify that the person in question is female or male, we add the word girl or boy in front of the ”that”, so ”He took an apple” would have to be ”That boy took an apple” or in Kazakh; «Сол жiгiт бiр алма алды.». Because of this, I had a habit of saying ”that girl” or ”that boy” in the beginning instead of ”he” and ”she”. My language literally doesn’t have any words for ”He” or ”She”, only they/them/that/this/you etc.
