Debated on whether or not I should even post this or get a throwaway, but here we go.

I was the bad guest. Cringing as I'm even thinking about this.

I was 14 and had just transferred to a new high school. I had a few friends in the beginning before I had gotten to know more people. It was one of those high schools where a middle school was also attached, and everyone in the high school had mostly gone to the middle school beforehand. So, they already sorta had their groups of friends. So it was a bit of a challenge to meet new people.

In September of my freshman year, my friend had me over at her house and her mom was there. I had to go to the bathroom. I was on my period and didn't use tampons yet, so I wore pads.

I was looking for the waste basket and I couldn't find one. So, what did I do? My 14 y/o awkward ass tries to flush it. The used pad. It kept coming up so naturally, I kept trying to flush. It started to overflow and I panicked. I called my grandma to come pick me up down the street and as I DARTED out the house, her mom was walking into the bathroom. I hauled ass out of that bitch. I was so ashamed.

That was almost a decade ago, but I still am ashamed when I think about that. I later apologized to the mom and she said, "you know what? It's honestly no big deal," so she was nice about it. I was kind of an anxious person back then and maybe she could sense that.

Later on she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's (early onset). I'm sure my former friend (for unrelated reasons) remembers it though.
