What’s Working and What Isn’t? | Friday, February 02, 2018

I think I'm on to something with a new Control Lock build. I think I'll be piloting a variation of this list (still have 3-4 spots I'm not 100% set on) to legend this season. Would be interested in hearing outside thoughts on the deck. You basically concede to machine gun priest and secret mage, but perform even better against aggro decks. I'm the guy who wrote this guide about hitting legend with control warlock a couple seasons ago. Legend Fatigue Lock with Kobald Monks

Another card I plan on testing at least 20 games is Hungry Ettin. I think it might be better than it's current playrate. I could also be dead wrong but I want to extensively test to find out. I really like Saronite Chain Gang for Control Warlock this season because so many people are running silences and Chain Gang provides 2 taunts instead of 1 making it more resistant to silence effects. Ettin provides yet another highly statted taunt that drops before voidwalker normally can. It's 4/10 and will most commonly summon a vanilla 2/2 making Ettin roughly a 4/8 for 6. Can also be cubed or facelessed for 4/10 taunt value. The downside is it can potentially be silenced and then the 2 drop is for sure able to go right past it if alive. I played around with it some in Big Priest last season as well and it felt acceptable.
